Vocal Boosters Meeting December 10th, 2002

 

Meeting called to order at 7:06 p.m. with 23 in attendance.

 

Minutes from the November meeting were approved.

 

Treasurer Report was given:  Next large bills due will be costumes and buses.  Approximately $33,500 is still owed in assessment fees for this year and $8700 from last year’s assessment fees are still due.  Treasurer’s report was approved.

 

Director’s report:  Riewerts noted that the Chamber singers are giving performances at various places.  Winter concert will be held Tuesday, Dec. 17th with choir pictures taken that night.  1st show choir competition is Linn Mar with all three show choirs attending, but Northside will be the only one competing.  Northside hellweek will be Jan.6th – 10th.  Jan. 3rd-5th is the Optimist basketball tournament where students can help keep score to earn assessment fees.  Need the construction crew to fix ripped fabric on the changing rooms.

                           Schloemer informed the boosters that the students will be rehearsing at St. Ambrose from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on the 17th and that Varsity will be responsible for the clean up.   Hellweek for Center Stage and Elegance will be the last week in January.  Discussion is being held concerning the need for an independent piano skills class for next year in place of Elegance show choir.

 

A resolution was read by booster’s President Virtue, which will be enclosed in a letter to be sent to all show choir parents.  The resolution reads as follows:  “All returning members of North High School Vocal Music Show Choirs will only be allowed to participate in the program if their outstanding Show Choir assessments are under $100.00 at the start of Summer Camp.”

 

A list of Alumni has been composed for future reference.

 

Buses have now been scheduled and the reserve fee is due.

 

Pictures of the concert choirs will be done Tuesday, Dec. 17th and pictures for Show Choirs will be done at the Linn Mar competition.

 

A few concert uniform fees still need to be collected.

 

Fund Raising:  Candy bar sales are in progress until the middle of January with cost of $1 per bar and 100% of the profit going to the student for assessment fees.  Pizza Hut coupons will be enclosed in the parent letter with 20% of a total order going to the booster’s club.  Krispy Kreme partnership cards will be the next fundraiser.  Students can now check their earnings on the website.

 

Costumes/Sewing committee will need help cutting out material and sewing on tags during hellweek.

 

Total received from the Silent Auction was $4765.  $4000 was earned by vocal and band students.

 

Booster shirt orders due by Friday.

 

Wisconsin Singers will be performing April 4th, 2003.  The booster’s will need to form a committee for promoting this event and will need to provide dinner for the singers.

 

New Business:  none.  All assessment fees are due next booster meeting will be January 7th, 2003 at 7:00 p.m.
