Vocal
Boosters Meeting September 2nd, 2003
Meeting
called to order at 7:06 p.m. with 36 in attendance.
Introductions
were made of the Vocal Booster Board members and of everyone in attendance.
Minutes
from the May meeting were approved.
Treasurer
Report was given: Check book
balance is approximately $11,000. There
is around $8,000 due in outstanding assessment fees of current members so far
this year. There is still
assessment fees owing to the Boosters from a few students that are no longer in
Show Choir. Progress is being made
in collecting this money. Treasurer’s report was approved.
President, DanVirtue, asked for 3 volunteers to perform the annual audit
of the books. Booster members Ross,
Bruemmer, and Blick volunteered.
Director’s
report: Riewerts reported that the
new risors will be coming soon for the music room along with a new synthesizer
and other miscellaneous items. Due
to the short school days, there has been slow start working with Chambers and
Acapella choirs. There will be one
more choreographer coming to work with Northside Establishment.
Auditions for “Annie” will be starting soon.
Schloemer noted a big “Thanks” to the custodians for helping to move
the music files. Her office has
been moved into the room next to Riewerts.
Students have been voice testing and Opus auditions have started.
Center Stage will start rehearsals this Monday from 6:00 to 8:30.
Piano classes have begun and are going well.

Follies
auditions will be held April 27-28th, 2004 and the Follies will be
May 14-15th, 2004.
Assessment
fees:
The new fees for this year have been established as $625 for Northside
Establishment and $450 for Center Stage. A
breakdown of these fees will be posted on the website.
An additional fee of $575 will be needed from students who wish to
participate in the Florida trip. A
meeting will be held September 30th, 2003 in the Auditorium at 7:00
p.m. to discuss this trip.
A
“Statement of Account” for each student has been developed on the website
for them to view. As the
student’s fund raising money is received by the treasurer it will be credited
to their account and will be reflected in their balance due.
Committee
Reports:
Fund Raising: Chairman, Ross, handed out a list of
the fundraisers to be held this year. There
may be more added to the list depending upon the interest.
Silent Auction:
Chairpersons, Teri & Greg Pauline, have sent out letters to the
businesses for donations for the Auction. The
list will be posted September 30th of the businesses who have not
responded for the students to solicit their donations.
There will a “prom
dress” auction this year for any student wanting to participate.
A total of 2 dresses per student can be donated with a minimum bid of $20
per dress.

Newsletter: Diane
will be trying to get a newsletter out before the September 30th
meeting.

Thurston is making a directory of all the students in the choirs and the
Boosters will be selling them this year at performances.
Other
business: Please stay and enjoy the
leftover ice cream from the Social. A
reminder to everyone to go vote in the school board elections.
Dan Thurston is running for election this year and needs your support.
Next
meeting will be September 30, 2003 at 7:00 in the Auditorium.
